"You can date the evolving life of a mind, like the age of the tree, by the rings of friendship formed by the expanding central trunk."

Mary McCarthy

For the past 10 years, I been dedicated to teaching diverse subjects to multiple cultures across Alaska and in Europe. Within technology, I have taught Computer Applications, Graphic Design, Webmasters, and Yearbook. In the area of business education courses taught include: Accounting, Business Management, Marketing and Business Entrepreneurship. I've lived in Southeast Alaska (Juneau, Haines, and Sitka) for 12 years teaching, working in tourism management and the newspaper business. For the past 3 years, I have leaved and taught in Budapest, Hungary to international students from across the globe. My interests include teaching in a non-traditional high school environment, an environment in which I thrive. I see teaching as a new window opening to new connections, greater diversity, and opportunities that will be both a challenge and a reward.

My personal mission as an educator involves preparing students for whatever path in life they may follow. Teachers must teach to students entering college, the world of work, the armed forces, or a life of service. I believe in creating relevant, challenging lessons that engage students. Good teaching begins with a vision and is accomplished through setting high standards. I hope to provide students with necessary skills and confidence through a blend of support and challenge that leads to independence.
