Itinerary for Day 1 of Camp Kelly. After
driving up from Denver, we dropped stuff off at camp headquarters in Blue
River and then headed up trail to McCullough Gulch. The hike to the waterfall
was great. Then after a quick shower it was off to Vail and their summer
outdoor concert series, dinner and a drive back w/ dancing in along the
way. Talk about a full day. When you come to Camp Kelly! be ready to bust
a move.
Here they are. The dynamic (or
is that DYNOMITE!!!) duo of Kelly & Lu.
This very friendly man (after commenting on
our legs) made sure to offer us a resting spot at his camp should
the weather turn bad. How nice, particularly since his property
was marked with the next sign -->
How could you not feel welcomed here?
Here's Kelly at the waterfall.
The waterfall at McCullough Gulch
Love those self timers!
Some miscellaneous mountain - nice that the
sunshine was cooperating with us.
Vail Summer Concert Series - Buckets &
???
Far Left) - Here's the crowd plowing into the stage at the
end of the concert of Buckets & Tap?? (sadly, I can't
remember the full tame of the group It was Buckets and something.).
They were quite good though. Really
Middle) Here's the birthday girl! Hope you enjoy that wine
Kelly. I hate to break it to you, but there's not going to
any margaritas left by the time we get to Breckenridge :)
Right) This was me only 1/2 bottle of wine
into the evening. Something else I learned on the trip is that
ones ability to handle alcohol changes at altitude. After 1/2
of bottle of wine (and a pint & 1/2 of margaritas!) I was
feeling quite welcome in Colorado
